Hi to Ken and the Icon Crew,
The bloke in the photo had just laid his eyes on "Alan" for the first time
at the trucking yard, he looks pretty comfortable standing alongside that
beautiful Icon-ic car (pun intended), but believe me I know how he was
feeling at that very moment and it was far from comfortable, yes he was very
pleased with his good fortune, but the physical signs belied the fact that
his body was numb (no not from that), his mouth was dry (yes probably from
that) and he wondered why the blood pressure tablets weren't working.
A few people stopped to take photos including a "Hells Angel" in a Holden
Statesman, who politely asked permission to take a photo because his
father-in-law was a Ford nut and would "kill'im" if he passed by without
getting a few snaps!!
With the help of his mate "Mobbsy", tying "Alan" onto the car trailer was
akin to a new mother leaving the Hospital car park with the new "bubs",
straps checked and double checked.
30 nervous moments later, it was time to hit the streets of Adelaide and
finally get "Alan" home, easier said than done when it's peak hour on some
of those narrow arterial roads Adelaide is famed for, once onto the South
Eastern Freeway it was an easy 80km cruise to "Alan's new home and an
awaiting crew of mates who are all Ford and drinking "experts" in their own
rights.
Now I definitely know how that new mum feels when she gets home from that
hospital with the "bubs" to a house full of well wishers for the first time.
Cheers and thank you very much for a chance to own an Ozzie Icon (pun
intended again)we guarantee that many hours will be enjoyed showing and
showing off
Phill and Tania
